Here's the latest on some new Golden & Associates Construction projects.

Hyatt Place Hotel
Owner: Hyatt Hotel Corporation

Projected Completion Date:  February 2009
Scope: The Hyatt Place Hotel is a 150 room, six story hotel totaling 105,000 sq. ft. Interior features include meeting rooms, lobby, bar/ cafe area, sunroom, indoor pool, fitness center, and a guest laundry facility. The lobby will have a rich, cosmopolitan atmosphere with an inviting fireplace, high-speed computer access for guests, modern seating, and high ceilings. A dining area with buffet serving will be located off the lobby. The exterior of the building will be brick, EFIS, and glass. The building is located on Birmingham's southside at 4th Avenue South and 20th Street.

Jefferson County Eastern Health Center
Owner: Jefferson County Department of Health

Projected Completion Date:  October 2008
Scope: The Jefferson County Eastern Health Center is a new 43,000 sq. ft. facility being built to replace the existing Health Center in Roebuck, Alabama, just east of Birmingham. The two story structure consists of concrete foundations with a structural steel frame. The exterior of the building will be clad with curtain wall and storefront glass, manufactured stone, metal wall panels and precast panels. The roof will be a modified TPO roof mixed with metal roof panels. The interior of the building will have drywall and stone partitions with carpet tile, creamic tile and vinyl floors. The facility will include dental and medical offices and exam rooms.

Burger Phillips Building Renovation

Architect:  Emory Kirkwood & Associates
Start Date:  November 2007
Projected Completion Date:  November 2008
Scope: The Burger Phillips Building is a historic building located in downtown Birmingham. The six story, 56,000 sq. ft. building is being transformed from office space to 35 apartment units.

2600 Highland Condominiums
Owner: 2600 Highland, LLC
Architect:  Simonson Germany Nonemaker & Associates
Start Date:  September 2006
Projected Completion Date:  April 2008
Scope:  11-story new construction that will have a three level parking deck and eight levels of high-end condominiums. The 43 condos will range in size from 1,100 sq. ft. to 2,400 sq. ft.  The exterior of the building will feature brick, stucco, limestone, and a slate roof. The building is located on Birmingham's historical Highland Avenue and 26th Street.
