Cityville Block 121 Mixed Use Development
Owner: Inland American

Location: Birmingham, AL
Projected Completion Date: September 2010
Budget:  $25 Million
Scope:  Located in downtown Birmingham, Cityville Block 121 is a mixed use development over an entire city block that consists of 21,000sf of retail space, 255 apartment units, and a 7 level 368 space pre-cast parking deck. The section along 20th Street will have 1 level of retail space with 4 levels of apartments above. The remaining buildings will have 4 levels of apartments.

Amenities include a pool courtyard, clubhouse, and fitness center. 

The overall building area is 272,000sf plus the parking deck area of 129,000sf.



Birmingham-Southern Residence Halls
Owner: Birmingham-Southern College
Architect: ArchitectureWorks, LLP
Location: Birmingham, AL
Projected Completion Date: July 2010
The project consists of  two brick-veneered, wood-framed structures that will be four stories tall. The North Building will be 26,700SF and the South Building will be 38,600SF. The student suites will range from one to five bedrooms, with each having kitchen and living/studying areas. Once completed, the Halls will house up to 167 students.

The two buildings will be connected by a landscaped common area that will provide the students a relaxing outdoor environment.

The owner is committed to sustainable design features and is carefully considering LEED certification for this project.




Lemak Sports Medicine Office

Owner: Alabaster MB
Architect: Hendon + Huckstein Architects, PC
Location: Alabaster, AL
Projected Completion Date: January 2010
This former 7,000SF bank branch is being transformed into a modern medical office for a thriving sports medicine practice.

The project began with interior demolition and the removal of the bank's vault. The drive-through teller wall was removed so the drive-through area could be enclosed and incorporated into the office space.

The space will feature seven exam rooms, administrative offices, an x-ray room, and physical therapy area. The project has a six month schedule.
