Golden & Associates Construction to break ground on state's emergency operations center

Birmingham, Ala., Jan. 22, 2007 - Golden & Associates Construction, LLC will break ground Friday on an addition to the Alabama Emergency Management Agency in Clanton, Alabama. The 12,000 sq. ft., two-story addition will include private offices, classrooms, storage rooms and an open office area. The building will also include an advanced security system and an uninterrupted power supply. A 69 vehicle parking lot addition will also be included in the project. The exterior will be brick with pre-cast concrete trim and will be connected to the current building by an enclosed elevated walkway. The $3.5 million project will have a 12 months construction schedule. The architect firm for the project is Montgomery's Payne & Associates Architects, LLC.

State dignitaries are scheduled to attend

Additional Information:
The AEMA provides around-the-clock monitoring of varying conditions throughout the state (weather developments, etc.). They coordinate emergency assistance to local communities when affected by disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes, or floods.
