Additional Information:
Golden & Associates Construction, LLC was founded in 1997 by Geoff Golden. The Company's local construction experience includes the historical renovation of Jemison Flats, historical renovation of Crawford's Autoshop (the former Roger's building), the Birmingham Children's Zoo addition, LAH Real Estate office in Homewood, Jefferson County Personnel Board Renovation, and the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce renovation.
The 11-story building will include a three-level parking deck and eight-levels containing 41 high-end condominiums. A pool area, fitness center and spa, and garden deck will complete the project. The $19 million project is scheduled to be complete in April 2008. Simonson Germany Nonemaker & Associates of Atlanta is the design architect firm and Krumdeick A+I of Birmingham is the interior design firm.
Replacing the old Otto Marx mansion, the building was designed to blend in with the historical residential area. The exterior of the building will consist of brick, stucco and limestone with a slate roof, building materials found on many of the historic homes in the Highland area. The condos will have 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms and will range in size from 1,100 square feet to 2,400 square feet. Each unit will have its own balcony and 10 feet tall ceilings. The condos will have a modern interior design and will feature granite countertops, hardwood floors, and stainless steel appliances.
