Magic City Casket Building

The Magic City Casket Building was originally built in the late 1800's. The buildings originally housed Madame Blanch Bernard's Brothel. The 1st Avenue South and 23rd Street block served as the "red light" district for Birmingham. In more recent times, the buildings were used as warehouse space.

Golden & Associates renovated the buildings creating 14,400 square feet of multi-tenant office space. The renovations included new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The construction was extensive and required special attention to the Historic Preservation Society's stringent requirements.
