LAH Real Estate Homewood Office

LAH is one of Birmingham’s largest real estate companies with 5 locations in the area. The Homewood office began in an older bank building on a prominent corner in downtown Homewood. LAH wanted a building that reflected the company’s expertise and image, so they demolished the outdated building and hired Golden & Associates to construct their new office.

The two story, 6,000 sq. ft. building features a unique hand-rubbed stucco and brick exterior finish topped with a slate roof that was brought in from upstate New York.
Contemporary interior details include stained birch pocket doors on all of the offices and almost one mile of sheet rock reveals throughout the office. The interior features also include stained concrete floors, 22 feet high ceilings, and a custom built mahogany reception desk with a rare granite countertop. Nine 15 ft. tall windows allow ample natural light into the open office area.

Before actual construction began, Golden & Associates had to raise the site foundation by 4 feet from the previous building that had inhabited the location. Over 800 cubic yards of fill was brought in to tackle this task. In addition to raising the site, Golden & Associates had to replace some portions of the site because of bad soil conditions. A 175 ft. long retaining wall was also added to two sides of the sloping lot, with some areas of the wall being 12 ft. tall.
