Princeton Hoover Baptist Medical Center

The City of Hoover is one of the fastest growing municipalities in the state. And where there is population growth, there is a need for additional medical facilities. Baptist Health Systems saw an opportunity to take a vacant shopping center and transform it into a medical center for the bustling city.

The Sulphur Springs Marketplace, located near Interstate 459 and Alabama Highway 150, once housed a grocery store and several small shops. The Baptist team brought on Golden & Associates to transform the space into physician offices, an accounting office, and an urgent care facility.

Phase I consisted of Golden & Associates transforming an old beauty salon into 1,500 sq. ft. of office space for two physicians. The architect designed the space to reuse the existing HVAC equipment in order to keep the project with-in budget. Golden & Associates was able to complete this phase in 5 weeks to allow the doctors to move in and open their practices quickly.

Phases II and III of the project included the build-out of the accountant space and the 8,000 sq. ft. urgent care facility. During these phases, drawings were re-issued for a completely new design that included new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Even with these major changes, BHS needed the project to be completed by the original estimated date. Golden & Associates accepted the challenge, re-priced the project, brought on new subcontractors, and was able to complete the new design by the owner's required date.
