Off Shore Vending Warehouse

Off Shore Vending distributes perishable and nonperishable packaged food items to off-shore oil rigs at various locations off the U.S. coast. With their business expanding, they needed Golden & Associates to build a warehouse that would be large enough to meet the demands of the growing company.

The 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse contains 50,000 sq. ft. of storage space, 5,000 sq. ft. of refrigerated and freezer space, and 5,000 sq. ft. of office space. The warehouse exterior consists of 47 concrete, tilt-up panels that were raised into place in less than two days. An EPDM roof with steel framing and joists tops off the building.

The office space features stained cabinets with granite countertops and slate flooring. Aluminum storefront walls provide privacy for offices while allowing natural light to penetrate the space.

53,000 sq. ft. of concrete provides a sturdy driveway for heavy duty trucks to access the twelve loading docks. Because of the massive size of the concrete apron, an underground storm water detention system was installed to prevent the apron’s rain runoff from eroding the foundation.

The warehouse is located in an industrial park adjacent to a main railroad line. This ideal location allowed the owner to add a railroad spur to run directly to the warehouse. This feature gives Off Shore the capability to unload freight directly from the rail car rather than going through a third party.

Off Shore needed to move into the warehouse space before its scheduled completion date. Golden accommodated the owner by rearranging the schedule in order to complete the storage area early. The remainder of the schedule was spent completing the office area.
