Jackson Galleries

Jackson Galleries is a 3,000 sq. ft. project that consisted of revitalizing a historic building located in downtown Birmingham. A large portion of historic materials were preserved and restored, such as, the antique heart pine flooring, brick, pre-cast window sills and balustrade and much of the rough sawn timber that was used as framing material.

The first floor is used and occupied by an antique gallery. Some of the features of this floor include custom patterned marble flooring, a mahogany reception desk with in-laid granite, tongue and groove stained ceilings throughout, custom built fabric wrapped wall panels, and specially designed true lead art glass entry doors.

The second floor consists of two loft apartments and one studio apartment. Some of the finishes include, heart pine antique flooring throughout the bedrooms and kitchen, ceramic tile floors and shower walls in the baths, custom built glass enclosures and mirrors in the baths, and a glass tile back splash and granite counter tops in the kitchen.

A common area courtyard was also constructed between the gallery and an adjacent building which included custom steel fencing and old restored brick pavers.
