Wachovia Bank Training Center
In an effort to consolidate their local operations into one location, Wachovia Bank moved their existing training facility to the Wildwood Operations Center. This state-of-the-art facility provides a stimulating learning environment for training and continuing education classes for Wachovia employees.
The aggressive, four month project schedule created a challenge for the design and construction components of the project. Due to the tenant’s accelerated move-in date, demolition and early construction efforts had to begin while the architect was completing final design issues. Project highlights such as unique drywall details and reveals, a multitude of paint colors and wall coverings, re-worked mechanical and fire protection systems, and highly upgraded electrical service required all subcontractors and vendors to work quickly, efficiently, and in close concert with Golden & Associates onsite management team to complete the renovation on time.
The 19,000 sq. ft. project included removing the entire acoustical ceiling as well as 90% of the existing drywall. Golden & Associates built-out fifteen training and lecture rooms, a break room, and public phone area. The exposed ceiling structure was painted and pendant light fixtures were installed instead of replacing the existing fluorescent lights. Unique details include an interior curved wall and soffit with Polygal inserts to allow light filtration but also maintain privacy. Alternating paint colors and finishes gives the walls a contemporary finish.
