Corporate Realty Development plans luxury living, commercial space for Heritage Building

Birmingham, AL- Corporate Realty Development has purchased the former Heritage Building downtown and is converting the historic property in to 63 luxury apartment lofts with 25,000 square feet of accompanying commercial space. Today known as the Jemison Flats and CC Electric Building, the 86,000-square-foot structure at 1829 First Ave. North is under renovation by a joint venture team of Golden & Associates Construction LLC and B. L. Harbert International. Giattina, Fisher, Aycock Architects is completing design work for two adjoining buildings and an attached, secure 200-car parking garage. Corporate Realty Associates and Corporate Realty Management will lease and manage the mixed-use development, which is slated for completion in the fourth Quarter of 2002. The development will maintain the rich historical nature of the building while creating an urban lifestyle with 21st Century flair.
