General contractor Golden & Associates Construction LLC soon will begin work on one of the first new retail projects in Mountain Brook's English Village in several years.
Birmingham-based Golden is building a two-story, 6,600 square-foot office and retail complex at 2100 Cahaba Road for Birmingham Realty, a local commercial real estate company owned by George Barber. Construction will commence June 25 and is scheduled for completion by the end of November 2001.
SRW & Associates Inc., also of Birmingham, is the architect. Golden's Mike Painter is superintendent for the project.
Golden project engineer Jason Prickett says the building will include offices on the upper level and retail space below.
"There is a possibility of separation for two stores downstairs, with two entrances," Prickett says.
No tenants for the building have been announced.
